Imgur Browser Review

The internet is full of media – video, music, but most of all, pictures. It’s human nature to want to share great (or not so great) media we find on the internet, and that’s exactly why Imgur was created.

Imgur is a photo sharing website that lets you upload and share and categorize different types of photos. After uploaded, other Imgur users can ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ the photo, as well as leave comments on it to voice their opinions. Because each image is categorized, users can find pictures of whatever they want to see – whether it be computers, to cats, to just general funny pictures.

Imgur is great, but the one thing Imgur has been missing is a great mobile app that lets you access it on the go. That was, until now.

Imgur Browser is an Imgur client for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Images are laid out in a Pinterest style board, allowing you to view the maximum amount of pictures as easily as possible. As you get close to the bottom of the page, more images load automatically, which sure beats swiping through pictures one by one as many other Imgur clients require.

Imgur Browser

Speaking of swiping, Imgur Browser has perhaps the best series of animations we’ve ever seen in an iOS app. Everything from clicking on images to switching windows looks wonderful, and really shows how well designed Imgur Browser is.

But design isn’t everything Imgur Browser does well – the app has all the necessary features to make your Imgur browsing experience enjoyable – and Imgur is the type of website you can explore for hours. ¬†Imgur Browser makes it easy to save your favorite subreddits for quick and easy access, even if you aren’t logged in.

Imgur Browser - Sharing

And while we’re talking about favorites, you should know that sharing pictures with your friends is simple with Imgur Browser – simply click the button in the top right, and choose the platform you want to send the picture on.

Imgur Browser

Imgur Browser is packed with other neat features as well. For example, you’re given the option to receive the ‘picture of the day’, once a day, via push notification. If you don’t like it, simply turn it off via the app’s settings.

To be honest, we have no idea how this is free. The app is supported by ads, but even those are few and far between. Imgur Browser is perhaps the best Imgur browser on the App Store. And for the low price of free, there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t go check it out right now. You won’t be disappointed.
