Do you own a lot of applications on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch? If so, chances are that little number on your App Store application, telling you how many applications need updating, is pretty high. The highest I’ve seen mine be at is over 80, what’s yours? Anyhow, that’s not important. You’ll never have to worry about updating your applications again with Auto App Updater from the ModMyi repo.
Jailbreak tweak developer Noppers has released this extremely convenient tweak on Cydia which allows you to update your applications automatically. After downloading it, you can enable it within the Settings app, and have it check for updates for your applications at set time intervals, such as every half hour, every few hours, or once a day.
The tweak seems to work great. I’ve used it to test updating several apps, and I’ve done so without any problems. Although it’s possible to work on a data connection, there is also an option for the tweak to only update applications when connected to Wi-Fi, a nice feature which will save you data usage.
The only problem I have with auto app updaters is that sometimes, you won’t want to update certain applications. For example, sometimes developers release incomplete applications, which have more bugs than the previous version, or remove adored features or bonuses within games.
Other than that, there is no reason not to have this tweak, which is available for $2.99 on the ModMyi Repo.
