Have you ever been browsing your Facebook news feed and seen really well done photos posted by your friends from moments where you wouldn’t have been expecting them to be carrying a camera? If you own any recent model of the iPhone, you already have one of the best portable cameras out. With the high quality camera and advanced photography software available on the iPhone, it has become one of the most popular options for taking and producing pictures – and it’s not that hard at all.
The best camera you can have is one that you can carry with you all the time, and that is certainly the case with the iPhone. It’s no surprise that most people are far more likely to have a cell phone on them than an actual camera, which enables them to take photos when the moments to do so arise.
So you’ve got the iPhone, everything you need, really, to begin producing quality pictures. However, there are three main steps you should take if you want to take your photos to the next level.
1. Capture The Photo
Obviously, the first thing you need to do is capture the photo. However, capturing with quality is not as easy as simply pressing the button. You’ll want to make sure you’re at a decent angle to capture the photo so it looks nice, and you’ll want the image to be stable. Letting the image focus will dramatically increase quality – and let’s face it, nobody likes blurred photos, right? Trying to stabilize your arms and hands while capturing photos can sometimes make it worse, to the point where you accidentally drop your phone – so it’s important to own a good protective case such as the OtterBox Defender to prevent unwanted damage.
2. Edit The Photo
Anybody can capture photos, but few can make them look nice enough to get a lot of attention. The real difference maker after taking the photo is to edit it to make it look nice. There are apps such as Instagram that can do things as simple as adding a filter, one touch, that can dramatically change and improve your photo. Although you definitely don’t need Adobe Photoshop, basic editing tools (more than the ones built into the Photos app) will definitely help you separate it out.
3. Publish The Photo
So you’ve created a photo, you’ve edited it, and it’s looking superb. The next step is to share it with the world. There are tons of different photo sharing sites and applications available for you to do just that. Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Flickr, and more. If you’ve really worked hard on it, tell your friends, advertise it, especially if you want to make money off of it. I have had friends who have been contacted by magazines and websites looking to buy publishing rights to the photo, some of them making over TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS! Just think, that could be you, right? Right. And guess what, he takes his photos with his iPhone as well.
