How To Get Blogs To Review Your App

Ever created an iPhone app? It’s a tough market, isn’t it? You may have thought your work was done once the app was approved for the App Store, but in truth, it’s only just begun. Now you have to market your apps, a task that gets harder each and every day. So how do you go about it? One good way to do so is to get blogs to review your app.

Benefits To Having Blogs Reviewing Your App

Blogs generally have a following. Readers return in regular intervals to check out the newest articles that have been published on their blog, granting them exposure. When you get your app reviewed on these blogs, everyone that follows these blogs will have been exposed to your app. Those interested will go onto purchase it. Kind of cool, right?

And that’s not all – blogs that link to your sales page will boost its Pagerank. This means that it’ll be found more often in the search engines, leading to more sales.

So how do you get blogs to review your app? There are a few things you can do.

How To Get Blogs To Review Your App

First, you could have a stellar app – an application that is so good that the blogger wants to share it simply because he or she liked it so much. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen very often. Most apps bloggers review are already pretty well known. So what do you do?

You move onto the second option – you ask the blogger to do a review on your app. As unlikely as it seems, this method is extremely effective. How do you go about it? Simply send the blog owner an email, asking them to do a review. If your app is paid, provide them a promo code if they are interested.

There are millions of blogs out there, and you should try to contact as many of them related to your app as possible. For example, you could do a Google search for “App review blogs”, “iPhone Blogs”, or even “iOS Blogs”. By doing this, you’ll find blogs with an audience that may be interested in your application. You can speed up this process by filtering for blogs that make contacting them easy, by adding keywords such as “contact us” or simply, “contact”.

Then, all you have to do is send the blog owner an email. If you make them broad enough, you can even copy and paste the emails to a ton of different blogs. However, this looks bad and I don’t recommend it. Personalizing the email will help build a connection with the blogger, and increases the chance they will take you seriously.

How To Ask Bloggers To Review Your App

  • Address them by their name if it’s publicly listed.
  • Check for a review policy on their website.
  • Mention the benefits for them and their audience.
  • Be polite and patient.
  • Do not use words like “urgent” or “hurry”. The only thing urgent in our lives is coffee.
  • Include the app’s price, platform, promo code, and perhaps even screenshots.
  • Make sure to have correct, up to date contact details so the blogger can get back to you.

By doing all of these, you increase your chances of the blogger choosing to review your app. Bigger blogs will receive tons of these requests a day, so it’s important to make yours stand out.
